Golden Key- St. Croix Chapter to Celebrate 40th Anniversary with a Scholarship Reception

Join the University of the Virgin Islands' Golden Key International Honour Society- St. Croix Chapter at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, for Golden Key's 40th Anniversary and Scholarship Reception in the University's Great Hall. They will celebrate a milestone of their history. This event will bring together Golden Key current, prospective, alumni, and honorary members from 1995, when the St. Croix Chapter was charted.

The overarching purpose of this event is to raise $10,000 to establish a Golden Key Scholarship Endowment, so that our chapter can provide scholarships to well deserving students to complete their degree. Additionally, this event will be inclusive of our annual induction ceremony, where the new cohorts of members will be recognized for their academic achievements. This year we will be bestowing the 2017 Pillars Award to Golden Key’s Honorary members for their work in our community.

 Awardees include:

  • Kofi Boateng- UVI’s associate director of the Cooperative Extension Services and Golden Key St. Croix’s Chapter founding member.
  • Attorney Genevieve Whitaker- deputy supervisor of the Election System- St. Croix District
  • Albert Bryan Jr.- entrepreneur, executive director of Junior Achievement USVI and Former Virgin Island Department of Labor Commissioner
  • Senator Kurt Vialet- former mathematics teacher, assistant principal, Senator in 31st and 32nd Legislature of the Virgin Islands
