The Virgin Islands Marine Advisory Service (VIMAS) in partnership with Department of Natural Resources- Costal Zone Management (DPNR-CZM) and the Virgin Islands Conservation Society (VICS) is holding another community cleanup starting at 9 AM on Dec. 2 at Hull Bay.
"As we continue to recover, it's important to give our coastal zone a leg up and remove debris from the roadsides and ghuts. I'm especially excited to clean up the road leading to Hull Bay as it was the site of the first cleanup I ever attended many years ago with the Friends of Hull Bay environmental group," said Kristina K. Edwards, Coastal Zone Management (CZM) E and O Coordinator.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the Hull Bay beach. There will be an in-water cleanup as well as a roadside cleanup.
"This is the second cleanup in the Clean Streets initiative started by CZM and VIMAS. We look forward to expanding to the rest of the territory," said Howard Forbes Jr., VIMAS coordinator.
Participants interested in cleaning in water debris should bring their snorkel gear and likewise, participants cleaning the roadsides should wear appropriate clothing.
