Virtually every organization has to manage projects, but the key is to manage a project efficiently, on schedule and on budget. To help local businesses and organizations successfully manage their projects, the UVICELL Center will be hosting the Fundamentals of Project Management course. The three-day, introductory course will be held 8:30 am – 4:30 pm on Wednesday, July 27th through Friday, July 29, 2016. The session will be held at the UVICELL Center on the St. Thomas Campus.
The course will provide valuable insight on the basic elements of planning and executing a project and will cover standard industry practices using the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) Guide. The course is open to individuals who are new to project management, those who manage projects as a secondary part of their jobs, managers who are ultimately responsible for the projects and experienced project managers who may want to update their skills.
Participants will be provided with an introduction to project management, learn how to structure a project, examine project processes, gain an understanding of project management areas, conduct effective project meetings, identify characteristics of effective project teams and barriers.
Space in the course is limited and individuals must register to participate. For fees or more information on the program, call the UVICELL Center at (340) 693-1100 or visit http://cell.uvi.edu.
