In observance of International Day of Peace Observance, the University of the Virgin Islands is hosting an “International Day of Peace: Overcoming Racism Inside-Out” panel discussion. All are welcome to attend from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, in Evans Center room 401 on the Albert Sheen Campus on St. Croix.
Guest Speakers include:
- U.S. Magistrate Judge George W. Cannon
- Keziah Sullivan from Lutheran Social Services
- Xawntoia Franklin, Alternatives to Violence Trainer; Student research project on Beyoncé’s Formation: “Racism Where Do We Go from Here?”
Attendees will be treated to music and videos. The panel discussion is sponsored by ENG 100 classes on the Sheen Campus. The International Day of Peace is observed worldwide on Sept. 21, 2016. For more information contact Mary Wilder at mwilder@uvi.edu.
