Miss America 2015 to Share Personal Survivor Story on Domestic Violence on St. Thomas Campus

“Love Shouldn’t Hurt,” is the message that Kira Kanzantsev, Miss American 2015, is using in her campaign to raise awareness about Domestic Violence. One in four women and one in seven men fall victim to domestic violence each year, according to the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Kanzantsev, a survivor of domestic violence, will share her personal story from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, Business Building room110, on UVI’s St. Thomas Campus. The community is invited to attend.

Kazantsev, an advocate on women’s issues, personal branding expert, keynote speaker, host, blogger, and Miss America 2015, has made it her mission to be an advocate for victims. Her goal is to reinforce the message – it’s time to end domestic violence.

Share on social media with the hash tag #PutTheNailInIt. Kazantsev's appearance at UVI is a collaboration between the Family Resource Center and the University. For more information please call Dahlia Stridiron at (340) 693-1136 or via email at dstridi@uvi.edu.
