UVI has opened two new innovation centers, one on the St. Thomas campus and the other on the Albert A. Sheen campus on St. Croix. The centers have been established in an effort to encouraged students to brainstorm and channel their creativity. The innovations centers are equipped with computers, work tables, white boards and a 3-D printer classroom.
The innovation centers are sure to be home to members of the Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship Association (UVIDEA), a growing student organization at UVI. Now students will be encouraged to be the creators of new and innovative products. The open house which was hosted on Jan. 21, 2016 in St. Thomas, and on Jan. 22, 2016 on St. Croix, featured guest speakers and demonstrations of 3D printing.
