The UVI Concert Band on the Albert A. Sheen Campus is hosting Band Day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 19. Students from all public, private and parochial schools on St. Croix are invited to attend with their band instructors. UVI Concert Band students will aid students from schools on St. Croix in fundamental areas of reading and performing music. Band Day will begin with a mass warm- up session under the tent on campus. Students will then review the selections chosen to be performed for the day, and dispersed by instrument type for lessons. There will also be breakout sessions. Students will have an opportunity to delve into the music as they perform with other like instruments. After their practice sessions, they will perform selections in a mass band performance. After Band Day, students from various schools will be asked to perform with the University’s band at their spring concert on April 12. For more information contact Valrica Bryson at (340) 692-4150.
