The University of the Virgin Islands Substance Abuse and HIV/AIDS Prevention Program is hosting the Sisters Informing Sisters about HIV/AIDS (SISTA) program round-table discussion from Jan. 26 to Jan. 30 on the St. Thomas Campus.
SISTA is a peer-led program centered on sexual risk reduction behaviors and decision making. Topics to be discussed include dating, relationships, healthy sexual practices and skills to improve effective communication between couples. The program is facilitated by representatives from Helping Others in a Positive Environment, Inc., which is a non-profit social service organization that promotes the reduction of HIV/AIDS transmission and other chronic diseases in the Virgin Islands.
Female students on the St. Thomas Campus are asked to sign up to attend the five night cycle. The session will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. from Jan. 26 to Jan. 30. Participants who attend all sessions will receive a $50.00 gift card.
