VI-EPSCoR is launching the second Virgin Islands Science Café titled “Invasive Lionfish: Facts, Fables and Food Ideas” from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Fish Tails Bar and Grill in Red Hook. Science Cafes are free monthly events open to anyone interested in an informal and friendly conversation about a science topic important to the Virgin Islands. This month, the community is invited to get together to talk about how the invasive Lionfish harm reefs in the territory and learn from Chef Jeff how to safely prepare Lionfish to eat. The goal of hosting the Science Cafe is to provide a relaxed atmosphere where anyone interested in a variety of science topics can grab a drink, a bite to eat and talk with each other and scientists. A Science Café will be hosted every other month across the Virgin Islands. For more information contact Carrie Bucklin at vi_epscor@myuvi.net.
