The UVI Substance Abuse and HIV/AIDS Prevention Program and HOPE, Inc. will commemorate National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD) in March. NWGHAAD is an annual, nationwide observance that sheds light on the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls. Every year on March 10, and throughout the month of March, federal, national, and community organizations come together to offer support and hope, share information, work to reduce the stigma, and empower women and girls to learn the importance of HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment.
There will be a “Scavenger Hunt” open to all females ages 16 and older from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center main entrance on the St. Thomas Campus. There will be refreshments, music, prizes, and lots of fun activities. To register and for more information contact Alyssa Ryan at (340) 693-1122. Registration deadline is March 10. Space is limited so sign up today.
