The entire community is invited to take part in free workshops on making holiday sweet breads and fruit cakes.  The workshops will be offered by UVI’s Cooperative Extension Service 4-H/Family and Consumer Sciences Program on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix, on Dec. 9 and 10. Both workshops will be held in Room 134 of the Research and Extension center. See the details below:

  • Sweet Bread Workshop – Wednesday, Dec. 9
    • Times: 9 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Fruit Cake Workshop – Thursday, Dec. 10
    • Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“The cultural tradition continues, as the 4-H and the Family and Consumer Sciences Program puts on their annual baking workshops,” said Lois V. Sanders, assistant director of the 4-H/Family and Consumer Sciences Program. “We want to do our part to make sure that this tradition provides the opportunity for the general community to learn to bake these delectable cakes and pass it on to future generations.”
