UVI’s Center for Student Success Learning Center (CSS-LC) on the St. Thomas Campus has earned College Reading and Learning Association’s (CRLA) International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC). The CRLA provides guidelines for the training and certification of tutors and tutoring services. Jennifer Palmer-Crawford, academic advisor and Learning Center coordinator, was instrumental in gathering data and submitting the proposal for certification.
“This is a very high level certification for any university student support center to earn,” said Dr. Stephen Moore, executive director of Student Success and Honors program. “This certification is a prestigious honor for our center and we give a shout out and thank you to Ms. Crawford for her efforts.”
The St. Croix Writing Center was certified earlier this year. “The Center for Student Success has been and is continually striving to improve services to students and the campus,” said Dr. Moore. “We expect great progress with exciting changes and innovations in the coming year.”
