The Caribbean Writer and The Caribbean Museum Center (CMC) for the Arts invite the community to the film premiere of “Poetry is an Island,” a film directed by Ida Does about the life of Derek Walcott, Nobel laureate and member of The Caribbean Writer’s Advisory Editorial Board.
“Poetry is an Island” will premiere on Friday, Sept. 18, in the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts located at 10 Strand Street, on St. Croix. Reception starts at 5 p.m., with screening starting at 6 p.m. Admission is a suggested donation of $20.00 and $10.00 for students with identification.
The Caribbean Writer will also launch its latest edition, Volume 29, which highlights ambiguities and contradictions in the Caribbean space. Contributors to this issue will be present. There will be short readings of selections from the volume.
