The University of the Virgin Islands Athletic Department will host the 2014 edition of the annual Labor Day Invitational Volleyball Tournament from Friday, Aug. 29, through Sunday, Aug. 31, at the UVI Sports and Fitness Center on the St. Thomas Campus. UVI’s Buccaneers men’s and women’s volleyball squads will compete against men’s and women’s club teams from St. Croix, St. Thomas, the British Virgin Islands and St. Kitts. The round-robin format tournament begins at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29, with matches continuing at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30. Championship matches will be played beginning at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31. Admission to all matches is free. The tournament is sponsored by Subway of the Virgin Islands and the UVI Athletic Department.
