First 100 UVI Employees to Complete VI HRA Requirement to Receive $25 Gift Cards

Recent action by the Government Employment Service Commission Health Insurance Board requests that all active governmental employees and retirees under 65 (including UVI employees) who participate in the Group Health Insurance program complete a CIGNA Health Risk Assessment (HRA) to avoid incurring an additional fee for health insurance coverage. The HRA, which can be completed on-line at mycigna.com, requires biometric screening data for each employee covered under CIGNA. UVI has scheduled biometric screening sessions for employees in March. (See related item below.)

Following their screening, employees should go on-line at mycigna.com to complete the HRA with their results. All individual identifiable health information entered into the CIGNA system is confidential. UVI will only be advised of the fact that an employee has participated and completed the entire survey. A $25 Kmart gift card will be given to the first 100 UVI employees (50 on St. Thomas and 50 on St. Croix) who complete the Health Risk Assessment by Sept. 30. Employees may alternately obtain biometric screening information from their personal physician or primary care provider.

According to the UVI Human Resources Office, the GESC Health Insurance Board approved the Cigna HRA system as a means of helping employees to improve their health while controlling or reducing insurance costs. Employees who do not file an HRA by midnight on Sept. 30, will be assessed a fee/charge of $20.83 bi-weekly, or $541.58 per year, in fiscal year 2015.
