The University of the Virgin Islands invites members of the general public and the University community to town-hall meetings regarding the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and UVI’s three-year Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 20. Sessions will take place on both campuses. The Albert A. Sheen Campus session will be held in the UVI Great Hall. The St. Thomas Campus venue will be announced as soon as possible.
The public is invited to the presentation on the proposed three-year action plan to ensure that the University’s facilities, services, programs and activities are accessible to all individuals in compliance with the requirements of ADA.
The Transition Plan as required by 28 C.F.R § 35.105 (d) includes:
- Identification of the physical barriers that limit accessibility to University’s programs, services, or activities for people with disabilities,
- Description of the methods to be used to make the facilities accessible, and
- A proposed schedule for making the necessary modifications.
