UVI will host the University’s first “UVI Pride Day” on Friday, Feb. 7, to coincide with the 2014 Homecoming basketball games scheduled for the Lady Bucs and Buccaneers. UVI’s teams will host American University's women's and men's squads. The Lady Bucs play at 6:30 p.m., the Buccaneers play at 8:30 p.m. All students, alumni, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend and show their school spirit and “UVI Pride” by wearing Bucs blue. Along with the usual homecoming activities, UVI fans will pay special tribute to former Bucs Head Coach Eugene Werts, who died on Jan. 16, on the mainland.
