Members of the UVI and wider Virgin Islands communities are invited to an open house for the suite of new offices housing the Virgin Islands Caribbean Cultural Center (VICCC), the Center for Spirituality and Professionalism (CSAP) and other administrative units in the Delta M. Jackson Dorsh Complex on UVI's Albert A. Sheen Campus from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14.
A formal program will kick off the open house with music from the UVI Steel Pan Orchestra, under the direction of Adjunct Professor Valrica Bryson. The program will also feature tributes and remarks by UVI administrators, faculty and students in appreciation of the contributions to cultural research and heritage education for the VICCC collections from the estates of Dr. Gene Kenneth Emanuel and Dr. Robert Vaughn. An honorable mention for a donation of book from the Estate of Dr. Marvin Williams will also be extended.
In addition to the VICCC and CSAP, the new administrative area provides office space for UVI's St. Croix Human Resources staff, the Caribbean Exploratory Research Center (CERC), the WUVI-STX student radio station, and the Global Institute for Leadership and Management Development (GILMD). A guided tour of the new administrative area is also planned. Remarks on the VICCC, CSAP and others will be presented. For more information call (340) 692-4272 or email viccc@myuvi.net.
