The results of a year of research on the bioluminescence phenomenon in St. Croix’s Salt River Bay estuary will be presented in a special symposium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, at UVI’s Great Hall on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. During the past year, researchers from UVI were joined by others from the University of South Carolina and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in conducting a number of studies at the estuary. Research and educational posters will be displayed beginning at 9 a.m., with presentations to be made from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. After a break for lunch, a round table discussion is slated for 2 to 3:30 p.m. For details, contact Marcia Taylor at mtaylor@uvi.edu or call (340) 692-4046.
