The Student Government Association on UVI’s Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix hosts its annual “Shadow our Students (SOS): Plant A Seed” initiative on Thursday, Nov. 13. The program provides youth in elementary schools across the island with college experience and opportunities for growth and development. SOS is intended to bring awareness to youth in the community about higher education and its importance and to communicate to youth that their goals are attainable and there is support in the community to help them reach these goals. This year’s theme, “SOS: Plant a good seed in good soil and expect growth,” captures the essence of this program’s goal. This year’s program will provide students the opportunity to interact with professionals from the community and professors from the University.
