English Professor Gillian Royes Attends National Black Writers Conference

Dr. Gillian Royes, an English professor in UVI’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Science, made a well-received presentation at the 2014 National Black Writers Conference held earlier this year. She participated in a panel discussion at the conference entitled "Shifting Identities in Africa and the African Diaspora." Joining Dr. Royes were author and documentary filmmaker Raquel Cepeda, Zakes Mda, author and creative writing professor at Ohio University, and Emily Raboteau, author and associate professor of English at the City College of New York.
