Congratulations to UVI student Ashley Gabriel, who, as Miss Virgin Islands, represented the territory in Sunday’s Miss America Pageant. Gabriel, who is 19, is majoring in nursing. Her pageant platform was “The Importance of Early Childhood Development.” Contestants from all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Ricio and the Virgin Islands, participated.
