Members of the media are invited to photograph and cover the University of the Virgin Islands Pride Day throughout the territory on Friday, March 28. UVI Pride Day is being held in celebration of the University’s Charter Month as a way to recognize UVI alumni, and for the community to show support for the only institution of higher learning in the territory.
Administrators at UVI are asking all UVI alumni to wear the institution’s colors – blue and white – or other UVI gear on March. 28. Alumni and members of the community are also asked to share their proudest UVI experiences on UVI’s social media as part of UVI Pride Day.
As part of UVI Pride Day, President Hall, members of his administration and UVI students will host “Pride Talks” at various high schools throughout the territory and a “Pride Rally” at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School. They will meet with UVI alumni working at the schools, engage seniors and present awards.
