The public is invited to a special evening of jazz at the University of the Virgin Islands’ Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21. “Sound Revolution” will feature the best young musicians of the Virgin Islands meeting the UVI Jazz Ensemble, according to Valrica Bryson, adjunct professor of music at UVI. Participating performers will be Michonde Delauney, a seventh grade student at John H. Woodson Junior High School, St. Croix Educational Complex instructor Kevre Hendricks, Malvern V. Gumbs, an instructor at Addelita Cancryn Junior High, Victor Provost of the 21st Century Band, Sarah Jagrup and Chantal Harrigan of UVI. There will be a special guest appearance by Allen Youngblood. The concert takes place in the UVI Great Hall. Admission is $25. It is co-sponsored by UVI’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, the Virgin Islands and Caribbean Cultural Center, and the Virgin Islands Academic and Cultural Endowment.
