The St. Croix Chapter of UVI’s Golden Key International Honour Society has received the prestigious 2014 Key Chapter Award for conducting activities above and beyond the call of duty in the St. Croix community. To qualify for the award, a chapter must have achieved the organization’s Gold Chapter status, meaning its members have fulfilled all of the Society’s activity and service requirements. Then, Golden Key’s International Leadership Council reviews the applications and selects the winners.
In a statement, Golden Key Executive Director Brad Rainey said the organization was thrilled to announce the award. “We appreciate all the hard work the University of the Virgin Islands, Albert Sheen Campus’ chapter has done throughout the year as we rely on our chapter leadership to help us accomplish our mission.” Rainey said.
Attaining Gold Chapter and Key Chapter status are historical events for the Albert A. Sheen Campus, the statement said. “The 2013-2014 Golden Key leadership, under the direction of Past President Rochella Davis, as well as the membership of the University of the Virgin Islands on the Albert A. Sheen Campus did a superb job of conducting the business of the chapter following the core values of Golden Key, which are leadership, academics and service.”
