UVI’s College of Science and Mathematics and the Etelman Observatory will host the next public observing session using the Virgin Islands Robotic Telescope at the observatory on St. Thomas from 7 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, June 27. Guests will be treated to views of Jupiter, Mars, Saturn and the great globular cluster in Hercules. The evening will also feature a video presentation and lecture describing the various unique and strange environments found on our Solar System's many moons.
"We are pleased to invite the St. Thomas public to join us and enjoy the night sky, views of our galaxy, and a discussion of interesting and exciting topics in the world of astrophysics and space science," said Etelman Observatory Director Dr. David Morris.
This event is presented free of charge to the community. Space is limited. Shuttle service will be provided from the Sibilly School parking lot (near Sibs).
