High School students across the territory are invited to attend a free Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) Preparatory program being offered by the UVI Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (CELL) Center. The SAT Prep program will be held from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays beginning Aug. 23, on St. Thomas and from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. on Tuesdays, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays beginning Aug. 16, on St. Croix. On St. Thomas, classes will be held at the UVI CELL Center on the St. Thomas Campus. On St. Croix, classes will be held at the UVI CELL Center, located at 23A Hospital Street in Frederiksted.
The program uses assessments, instruction, test-taking strategies and practice exams to aid students in improving their scores. It is open to all high school students attending public or private school. Applicants must have a grade point average between 2.0 and 3.5 and will be required to provide a copy of their last report card. The program is being underwritten by the V.I. Department of Labor.
