UVI to Host Candidate Forums on St. Croix, St. Thomas in October

  • NOTE: Additional information and a link to allow viewing of the forum via livestream.com is available from this direct link direct link

The University of the Virgin Islands will host a series of forums, in advance of the upcoming Virgin Islands elections in November 2014, to allow candidates and the constituents they serve the opportunity to come together to hear, learn and understand from each other. UVI’s Institute for Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness (ILOE), the Office of Student Affairs and the Student Government Association have joined with the USVI Alliance to deliver the series. Candidate forums are planned on St. Croix and St. Thomas.

During these moderator-led events, each candidate seeking office as Governor/Lt. Governor, Delegate to Congress, Senator at Large and Senator will have the opportunity to make a brief presentation about their platform and respond to questions posed by the moderator as well as members of the audience. The forums are open internally to the UVI community and externally to the larger Virgin Islands population. The goal is to aid voters in making an informed decision as to whom they wish to elect or re-elect.
