UVI’s Bucs soccer squad defeated UPR-Carolina 2-0 on Thursday, Oct. 23, securing a berth in post-season LAI Inter-League play and insuring two additional home matches on the Albert A. Sheen Campus. The Bucs second win of this season over Carolina was propelled by co-captain Denny Smith’s two goals. The Bucs win earned the team a third-place spot in their division. Their season record is four wins, three losses and one tie.
The Bucs begin playoff action Wednesday, Oct. 29, with a match against UPR-Mayaguez in Puerto Rico. UVI’s home inter-league matches are scheduled for Nov. 1, against UPR-Arecibo, and Nov. 8, against Catolica. Both home matches will begin at 1 p.m.
