UVI will host its 2014 Commencement Ceremonies at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, in the Sports and Fitness Center on the St. Thomas Campus and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, on the grounds of the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.
Harvard University Professor Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. will be the featured speaker. Immediately following his UVI presentations, Dr. Gates is scheduled to be honored in New York City, where he will receive a Peabody Award for his PBS television series “The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross.” Also being honored at UVI’s Commencement ceremonies will be the Hon. Ron de Lugo, the V.I.’s first elected representative to Congress, and St. Croix baseball legend Horace Clarke.
