The UVI Athletic Department will host the 2013 edition of the UVI Annual Labor Day Invitational Volleyball Tournament for Virgin Islands club teams and visiting squads from the Caribbean and U.S. mainland from Friday, Aug. 30 through Sunday, Sept. 1.
U.S. based teams will be coming from California, Washington D.C., and Utah (the Mountain West Club). Caribbean squads are expected from the British Virgin Islands, St. Kitts, St. Marten, St. Croix, and St. Thomas, along with UVI’s Buccaneer men’s and women’s squads. Round-robin format play begins at 7 p.m. on Aug. 30, in the UVI Sports and Fitness Center on the St. Thomas Campus. Matches continue on Saturday at 10 a.m., followed by the championship matches slated for Sunday, Sept. 1, beginning at 6 p.m. The tournament is sponsored by Subway of the Virgin Islands, radio station 107.9 DaVybe and the UVI Athletic Department.
