“A Healthy Me is Drug Free!” is the theme for Red Ribbon Week activities on UVI's St. Thomas Campus. Events run from Oct. 23 through 30. Posters based on the theme by clubs and organizations will be on display throughout the week, with judging on Wednesday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 24. Winners will be announced at the Open Mic Night, which is slated in the UVI Dining Pavilion for 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30. The evening will serve as the climax of the week’s activities. Everyone is encouraged to “Speak Out” against substance abuse through their various artistic talents. Red refreshments will be served.
Monday, Oct. 28, is Pledge Day, with students, staff and faculty invited to make a pledge to be drug free and collect a Red Ribbon token at the CA Building from 10 to 11 a.m., in the Sports and Fitness Center from 11 a.m. to noon, and at the Dining Pavilion from noon to 2 p.m. students in the residence halls and commuter students will decorate selected areas on campus depicting the week’s theme. Judging wil start at 2 p.m.. Winners will be announced at the Open Mic Night.
