A donation of $250,000 to UVI from Dale LeFebvre, managing partner of Oson, VI, LLC, a management, consulting and investment advisory firm, and his company will be made during a press conference at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the third-floor conference room of the Administration and Conference Center on the St. Thomas Campus.
The donation will be used to support the following programs at UVI: $100,000 to the LeFebvre Endowed Student Fellowship Award; $100,000 to the Oson VI, LLC Endowed Fund for Recruitment and Retention; $25,000 to the SAT preparatory program administered by University Bound’s College and Career Readiness Initiative; and $25,000 to the 2014 SAT Prep Summer Program conducted by UVI's Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning Center. Remarks are expected from LeFebvre, Sen. Clifford Graham, Economic Development Commission Chief Executive Officer Percival E. Clouden, UVI President Dr. David Hall and UVI Interim Provost Camille McKayle. A special guest from the office of the governor will also be present.
