Your gift to UVI accomplishes many purposes:

  • Support scholarships and academic opportunities for current students.
  • Meet unmet needs
  • Continue needed programming
  • Raise community engagement and awareness
  • Promote pride in UVI

An exciting new development that shows how meaningful alumni giving can be is the recent 2013 HBCU Alumni Association of the Year Award to UVI.

Class Campaigns
Annually, UVI graduating classes promote on-campus philanthropy through contributions made in honor of their accomplishments and overall experiences.  During commencement, graduates show their pride by wearing class philanthropy honor cords.  We’re building this culture of philanthropy which has resulted in annual increases in class giving rates.

The University of the Virgin Islands has achieved an alumni giving rate of 52.49 percent for fiscal year 2013-2014 – which is the highest alumni contribution rate of any Historically Black College and University in the nation, UVI President David Hall announced on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from an alumni celebration on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. “We are number one,” said Dr. Hall. “There is no HBCU that has numbers like this. If you go outside the HBCU realm, there are very few institutions that go beyond 52 percent.”

In fiscal year 2015, the University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees has set Alumni Giving goal to 54.49%.
