Dear Colleagues, Honorees, and Retirees, Greetings! As one of the newest members to join the UVI family, I want to go beyond merely congratulating you on your years of committed and excellent service to this auspicious institution. I would certainly be remiss if I did not also recognize your scholastic contributions to the VI and the broader Caribbean community, and so, to you, I say a generous and heartfelt thanks for keeping the academic flames brightly lit, and the collegiate hearth warm for those of us who have now come behind you, and upon whose shoulders we are indeed proud to stand. I would like to especially recognize our Dean, Dr. Kimarie Engerman, and all the other CLASS honorees. Thank you for holding the UVI doors open, for inviting us in, and for your encouragement and support. CLASS is indeed CLASS because of you! To my former UVI English Professor, Dr. Vincent Cooper, who nurtured my love of writing and ignited my passion for prose as a young undergraduate psychology major, thank you! It has been over twenty years from then to now, but the impact continues to steer me in the right direction and this is more than appreciated. To all of you celebrating the achievement of your particular milestones, I salute your accomplishments and wish you all the very best for a happy and successful transition.
