Scholarships and Awards
- National Science Foundation Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (NSF S-STEM)
- The NSF S-STEM project, Developing Future STEM Leaders in the Caribbean: Scholarships and Systemic Support for Graduate Students in Marine and Environmental Biology in the Virgin Islands, supports MMES students who are academically talented and financially needy
- NSF S-STEM scholarships are two-year awards awarded by the MMES admissions committee based on MMES program applications and FAFSA information
- Awardees are granted $5,000 towards tuition each semester for two years and up to $2,700 in funds for thesis supplies, conference travel, and professional membership fees
- Lana Vento Charitable Trust Award (LVCT)
- LVCT donates funds to the MMES program to support student thesis research
- MMES students apply yearly for up to $2,000 in funds to support their academic and professional goals
- SEAS Islands Alliance
- Teaching Assistantships (TA)
- Teaching assistants assist with the instruction of courses within the College of Science and Mathematics
- TA are one-year commitments of approximately 20 hours per week with a yearly stipend totaling $16,800
