The Public Relations Office (PRO) offers many services designed to help the University of the Virgin Islands’ internal stakeholders present an organized, consistent, professional approach to information distribution and promotion of the University’s news, events and accomplishments. Requests for all services can be made electronically. The UVI community is asked to take note of the following Public Relations services, procedures and their accompanying deadlines to ensure efficient and effective delivery of service. 

  • Announcements
    UVI Announcements are distributed weekly via e-mail to internal stakeholders and placed on the Announcements section of the UVI website. Items in the Announcements that are for public consumption are sent weekly to all media. Announcements should be submitted three weeks before the start date of an event. Items for the UVI Announcements must be received by noon on Thursdays for placement in the following week’s Announcements.   • Events Calendar
    The Events Calendar featured all UVI events. Once submitted, calendar items were shared on UVI’s social media and RSS feed pages. Events were submitted three weeks before the start date of an event.  Items for the UVI Events Calendar were due by noon on Thursdays for placement in the Events Calendar the following week. 

  • News Releases and Media Alerts
    News Releases and media alerts are distributed locally, regionally and nationally. Information for news releases and media alerts must be received 15 business days before the expected date of distribution.   • Radio Ads
    Information for radio advertising must be received one month prior to the expected air date. To request radio advertising, use this link to our Public Relations Services Request Form.



  • Marketing and Promotional Projects
    Information for marketing/promotional projects must be submitted at least two months before the expected start date of the event or project. To request assistance with a marketing/promotional project, use this link to our Public Relations Services Request Form.

  • Web Pages
    Webpage requests must be submitted at least six (6) weeks before the expected launch date. Microsite requests must be submitted at least six (6) months before the expected launch date. Web requests should be submitted to our Public Relations Services Request Form.
